About

Journeys in Translation was a project to translate some of the poems from “Over Land, Over Sea: poems for those seeking refuge” (Five Leaves, 2015) into languages other than their original English.

On 30 September 2017, International Translation Day, a Journeys in Translation event was held at the African Caribbean Centre in Leicester, UK as part of the Everybody’s Reading Festival. The original poems were read along with at least one translation.

After the event, Emma Lee created this blog. She had no intention of taking this project further and has no involvement in any projects or future projects that use the ‘Journeys in Translation’.
